HKR International Limited ("HKRI") proudly participated in Earth Hour 2025, which took place on 22 March at 8:30 PM.  This date coincides with the annual World Water Day, which this year focuses on the theme of "Glacier Preservation," aligning perfectly with the environmental ethos of Earth Hour. HKRI has adopted "Green it to Win it" as this year’s event theme to actively promote green practices and environmental responsibility.

In the week leading up to Earth Hour, HKRI engaged its employees with AI short films over five days, introducing themes related to renewable energy, water conservation, energy efficiency, sustainable development, and recycling. This initiative aimed to enhance employees' awareness and participation in environmental issues. On the day of Earth Hour, over 30 projects under the Group in Hong Kong, mainland China, Thailand, and Japan responded collectively by turning off unnecessary lighting systems at 8:30pm. This action reflects the Group's commitment to translating environmental education into practical actions, demonstrating its determination to promote environmental protection on a global scale.

Additionally, in response to World Water Day's call to preserve our planet's water resources, HKRI will make a donation to WWF to support coral restoration efforts in Hong Kong waters. This initiative aims to restore coral ecosystems, enhance marine biodiversity, and improve water quality, ensuring that future generations can continue to benefit.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, HKRI will continue to enhance our environmental, social, and governance ("ESG") practices. We are proud to highlight that Discovery Bay, our flagship project in Hong Kong, recently earned its first Property Management (Residential) – Gold Award, the highest honour of the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence. This award, organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee and the Environment and Ecology Bureau, along with nine other esteemed organisations, represents the most prominent ESG recognition in Hong Kong.

In parallel, the Group’s commercial complex in Shanghai, HKRI Taikoo Hui, achieved a Four-star rating from the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) in its first participation. This prestigious rating reflects our persistence in sustainable development and underscores HKRI Taikoo Hui's strong reputation in the international capital market. Furthermore, HKRI Taikoo Hui is WELL Core Certified™ Platinum this month, demonstrating our commitment to health and well-being.
